A Healthy Start

I began the diet because I was looking for a healthier way of eating. Many diseases run in my family- including heart disease and diabetes. This diet seemed to suit me. I was pleasantly surprised when I lost 12 lbs in two weeks. The food was great and I felt healthier. The diet gave me a new way to look at food and eating. I never was hungry- in fact you eat about 5-6 times a day. Cutting down carbs reduced my hunger too. Almost 2 years later, I'm 30 lbs lighter and in the best shape ever!

I've been following this life-style now for 2 years, and have lost close to 100lbs! It completely cuts out cravings for sweets & keeps you full and satisfied without feeling deprived. I have found a new life! It's worth a try!

I started the diet 12/5/05 and as of 11/9/06 I have lost 90 lbs. I'm healthier than I've ever been and all of my blood work is normal. There was no weighing, measuring or counting which made this very easy to follow and stick with.

Reduced Carb Dilemma

No matter what the book says, this is a reduced carb diet. The plus side is that it's very healthy and easy to follow. And reducing your sugar keeps cravings to a minimum. But gosh darn it I want bread and butter sometimes! I did this for about a year and half then switched to weight watchers so I could eat some of my favorite foods again.

I was never a healthy eater... and was fortunate to be able to eat everything and not gain weight. than I hit 40, and all that changed:) the south beach diet really changed my eating habits; proved that carbs just make you more hungry and bloated; and taught me the basics of good nutrition. I know read labels, started buying more healthy foods & choices; no more yodels every week for me or my family.

Excuse the aggressive rave title but seriously, I lost a considerable amount of weight and have been told my pants look great on me from a 360 degree view! The South Beach Diet got me ready for the beach for the first time in a decade.

This diet is really working for me, because
the carb cravings go away! And in Level two, I can always find a way to have the foods I love. Even level one wasn't so painful, I love eggs, and I had a riccota desert almost every night, which I really liked. I lost 8 pounds in 10 days, and it is still coming off.
I like it much better than low-fat deits, which always left em starving and craving sugar and carbs. It's a healthy way to eat.
