A Nutritionist Weighs in...

This program may work well for those who cook and would like to try new recipes and flavors. Unfortunately, this is not a simple plan to follow. It is not a diet that provides you with an exact plan. You will probably have to go through a lot of trial and error in order to determine how much your inner French woman should eat.

Even if you use the Web site or book as a guide, you will still need to figure out how to decrease portions based on examples of a few other dieters. The program offers a new outlook on eating. If you are able to grasp and implement the concepts, it could work well for you. If you need specific guidance, this is not the diet for you.

To eat like a French woman, you need to cook like a French woman.

Cooking is a key part of the program. If you do not have (or do not take) time to cook and prepare your meals, you will have a hard time sticking to this diet.

This plan may not be practical if you need a rigid formula to follow. It's up to you to exert portion control and to vary what you're eating. There aren't a lot of specifics to follow, but the book will probably give you enough information to understand what dietary changes you need to make.

You don't need to count calories. But, in return, you'll need to estimate and pay attention to proper portion sizes.

If you can consistently eat only a few bites when you're offered something indulgent, this plan may be right for you.
