A Nutritionist Weighs in...

While The 3-Day Solution Plan does encourage healthy foods, the plan goes much deeper than what you should and should not eat. For some people, the plan's mental exercises may help prevent overeating and achieve their goals. For others, however, this plan may be way too involved. On a positive note, it is nice that it encourages engaging in different forms of exercise, taking time for yourself to relax and connecting with others, since many people do tend to overeat based on their emotional state.

If you can reflect on your feelings frequently throughout the day, this plan may be right for you?

If you do not have the time or inclination to reflect on your thoughts once an hour, exercise for an hour, restore yourself for an hour and take an hour for intimacy every day, then this plan would not be practical for you.

It should be noted that on the website, there is a free discussion board for 3-Day Solution users, as well as options for individual or group coaching from Solution providers.

Diet Pros Diet Cons
  • Encourages healthy foods
  • Allows eating the foods you love - every now and then
  • Does not restrict entire food groups
  • A wide variety of meals and recipes are provided
  • Must watch portion sizes
  • Requires three days of mental exercises that may be hard to fit into your schedule
  • Must find several hours each day to engage in intimacy and restoring time
  • Must abandon current exercise regime and do exercises with specific themes each day
  • Encourages "burning off" extra calories from an indulgence with extra exercise and skipping dinner
